An ancient vault in
the heart of Positano
Let us welcome you into our completely renovated cellar. You will be enchanted by medieval architecture and elegant craftsmanship while tasting our special selection of wines.
We turned an old fishing net deposit into an exclusive wine tasting location. So if you are wondering what to do in Positano, the Cellar is the perfect answer for a first-class night out.
The ancient power of
wine
The Cellar is situated a few steps from the mother church and the Roman Villa dated back to the Vesuvius eruption in the 79 d.C. The Villa was buried in the ashes for almost two thousand years and brought to life only three years ago. On the inside was discovered a triclinium, a completely frescoed dining room which the Romans used during their banquets to celebrate life and honour the God Bacchus, God of wine and mysteries. The symbol of sensuality and vitalism brings us a lot back to current life.
It is said that Bacchus created wine by squeezing a bunch of grapes in his hands, collecting the juice in a golden cup. The divine nectar became the protagonist of long evenings and parties where everyone could enjoy his powers. This is the reason we wanted to honour our wine cellar with the ceramic face of the God Bacchus to take a dip in the past, celebrate life and savouring that ephemeral enjoyment that only a good glass of wine can give.
